What You Will Do_

Reportingto the EHAWT Team Leader, this position will be responsible for: performing professional office ergonomic evaluations for customers so they promptly receive recommendations and equipment; supporting core ergonomics programs usedby deployed ergonomic evaluators; providing educational services to LANL employees such as staffing health fairs and providing ergonomics-related presentations to employees; assisting with special projects for core LANL projects as needed. There is the opportunity to perform with non-office evaluations for candidates with ergonomics training.

This position is required to promote safety, security, and quality in all operations; promote teamwork within and across the Laboratory, and promote a positive work environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties:

  • Perform Office and/or non-office Ergonomicsevaluations including evaluation, delivering/picking up loaner equipment,equipment fittings and follow up to ensure employee comfort, productivity andsatisfaction

  • Staff the Office Ergonomics DemonstrationRoom, weekly

  • Maintain evaluation records via an onlineticketing database

  • Staffing Health Fairs to showcase LANL’savailable office and non-office ergonomics resources

  • Providing educational presentations andtraining related to ergonomics practices

  • Manage an At Risk Furniture program’s furnitureauthorization, arrangements for delivery, and restocking processes.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in ergonomics, physicaltherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, industrial engineering, sportsscience or related fields

  • Experience managing small projects/programswere one or more team members must coordinate skills to deliver a product orservice to a customer

  • Skill in the preparation and presentation ofergonomics or health related scientific research and its practical application toa diverse audience

  • Knowledge of and experience with patientadvocacy and occupational health issues including protection of patient healthinformation

  • Strong organizational skills across multipleprojects simultaneously

  • Strong customer service skills

Desired Skills:

  • Ergonomics certification such as thoseprovided by the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (AEP, CPE,CEA), Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist, Oxford Research Institute(CIE, CAE) or similar

  • Familiarity with and/or desire for knowledgeof non-office ergonomics scenarios

Education: Master’s degree or greater

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.

The position willbe housed within the Ergonomics, Health, and Wellness Team (EHAWT), part ofOccupational Health, whose mission is focused on creating a safe and healthyworkforce through injury prevention and health promotion services and programs. Both are contained within the OccupationalHealth and Safety Division, an Environment, Safety and Health (ADESH)Directorate multi-disciplinary and cross-functional organization with a focuson integrating health protection and health promotion services and programs forthe Laboratory to enable mission success.

The position willprovide office ergonomics services to employees within Los Alamos NationalLaboratory (LANL) and has the potential to expand into learning non-officeergonomics scenarios as well. The position provides support to deployedevaluators and will serve its own direct customers through face-to-faceevaluations.
